Belgium manager has revealed that Hazard isn't at his full fitness and won't be risked.

Martinez also ruled out the possibility of the Madrid star losing his captain's armband.

When asked about Eden Hazard, Belgium manager Roberto Martinez said in a pre-match press conference: "He's been working individually and has tried to join up with the group when he can.

"Medically, he's perfect, it's just a question of being very careful with his introduction. He's still not at full fitness and hasn't been able to train with the group at his club.

"We're going to be very careful and we're not going to take any risks."

Belgium play Iceland next in the ongoing UEFA Nations League and upon questions of the Real Madrid star's involvement, Martinez explained: "If he can play, it would be ideal.

"But if not, his presence in the squad is what I and everyone else needed - he's still the captain 10 months later."

The Belgian has struggled for form since joining Los Blancos, having undergone ankle surgery in March. He played a few games for us after that but has failed to make a lasting impression.

However, his ankle is proving to be a real concern since he will need treatments before and after every game for the rest of his career.
