Lampard on hot seat as Chelsea owner Abramovich will be expecting results and trophies after busy transfer window.

Abramovich commitment to Chelsea remains strong, However, the Russian billionaire will be ruthless with Lampard if he has to.

Speaking on the Transfer Talk podcast, Sky Sports' transfer expert Dharmesh Sheth said: "Chelsea are going for it - absolutely incredible.

What Roman Abramovich has done, people have called it a 'reinvigoration' of his spending and his love affair with Chelsea being rekindled.

"Frank Lampard's had his free hit. He got the Champions League place Abramovich would have wanted as a minimum so that's done.

But with these signings, it's a different scenario now at Chelsea and make no mistake - Abramovich is going to want to see results and trophies.

"He's sacked managers before for doing better than Lampard did last season. He's sacked Jose Mourinho twice, Carlo Ancelotti did the double in 2010 but finished second in the league and got sacked, so I think Lampard is well aware that Abramovich is going to want to see results."

Abramovich got his checkbook out this summer with Chelsea bringing in the likes of Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva.

However, the bookmakers still do not consider the Blues to be among favourites to win the Premier League with Lampard's side rated at just 14/1 to lift the trophy next May.
