Lampard reacts to question about Chelsea defensive struggles

Frank Lampard recently confirmed that he brought in former teammate and Chelsea legend Petr Cech to deal with the Blues' goalkeeping issue.

Asked whether he considers inviting another icon to address the team's defensive problems, the boss replied, quoted by Goal: "No."

Chelsea have been a mess defensively. Since the beginning of last season, the Blues have conceded 42 away goals in the top flight - more than any other team, including relegated Norwich City (38) and Watford (37).

Furthermore, in their last three games across all competitions, Chelsea have conceded 45 shots - that's 8 more than current bottom-placed Fulham in their four matches this season so far (37).

Finally, the Blues have made more errors directly leading to goals (3) than every other Premier League team combined so far this season, with Thiago Silva putting his name on the list 25 minutes after his top-flight debut.
