Liverpool boss Klopp was 'very interested' on signing Werner but striker chose Chelsea instead

Former Middlesbrough footballer and Bundesliga journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft reports that Jurgen Klopp was very keen on signing Timo Werner.

Klopp reportedly asked Werner to wait a couple of weeks so that he could figure out how to finance a move for him.

However, Werner did not want to wait around and chose to sign for Chelsea during that period.

It was previously reported that Liverpool did not have the funds to sign Werner, but if we are to believe this report, then the former RB Leipzig striker never gave them a chance to figure out the finances!

The German international reportedly also rejected the chance to join Manchester City and Manchester United to come to Chelsea.
