The Frenchman reveals that neither Hazard nor Asensio are fully fit and will be given time to regain 100% fitness.
He also believes that Odegaard is ready to feature tomorrow and will be an important player this season.
Speaking ahead of Real Madrid's La Liga opener against Real Sociedad, Zinedine Zidane spoke about the absentees for tomorrow’s clash and also his thoughts on Martin Odegaard: “The important thing is that Hazard gets to being 100%. There is time, and no hurry. We have had time to be prepared to start this league.
“I don't know when Hazard will be okay. He's better and what we want, priority is that he's 100% upset.
We have time. Asensio is better now but like with everyone else we'll wait till he's 100% and won't risk him. He is okay.
He is training apart. He had a scare with the national team but now he's better. What we are going to do is go little by little and when he is ready, he will come back with us.”
“Odegaard is fine, he's back and ready. That's what's important. Odegaard is a player of ours who can contribute to the team.
The players who pass through Madrid are the best. We have one more player and he is a player who can be important in this squad.”
So it seems that Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio surely won’t feature tomorrow, but Odegaard could get quite a lot of game-time. Zidane will aim to play his best possible side in what will be a difficult game against Sociedad and one they must win to kick off their title-defending season with a bang.
