Omeruo Clears Air On Missing Super Eagles AFCON Qualifiers

Omeruo Missing Super Eagles AFCON Qualifiers

Kenneth Omeruo has taken to Twitter to confirm he will miss the Super Eagles AFCON double qualifiers against Sierra Leone no thanks to injury.

The CD Leganes defender said the injury he suffered in action at the weekend in Spain will sideline him for at least two weeks.

“Please get your facts right before publishing articles to mislead people…don’t do that with my name…,” Omeruo tweeted while dismissing a media report that said he has resumed training in Spain.

“I am out for two weeks and not less…pls tag them to see this.”

The defender is, therefore, the second player to withdraw from the AFCON qualifiers after FC Nantes forward Moses Simon was ruled out following a groin injury.

Moses Simon has since been replaced by Genk striker Paul Onuachu while we wait to see who replaces Omeruo.
