Klopp Releases Mane And Jota Injury Update After Brighton Loss

Mane And Jota Injury Update

Jurgen Klopp has given injury update on Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota after Liverpool lost to Brighton which has piled pressure on ahead of a huge clash with Manchester City.

Klopp’s side host City on Sunday with Pep Guardiola’s side seven points ahead of the champions following their win over Burnley on Wednesday.

The Reds missed the pace and movement of Sadio Mane as the forward continues to recover from injury, with his team-mates looking bereft of ideas and confidence in his absence.

Liverpool have missed Diogo Jota’s goals since he was sidelined by a knee injury in early December – and the manager was asked about both his injured forwards following Wednesday’s defeat.

“Did I say that before the game? It hasn’t changed,” said Klopp. “Diogo, couple of weeks? Two, three, four?

“Sadio might be available. He didn’t train with the team.”

Jota looks set to miss games against Leicester, Everton and RB Leipzig as well as Sunday’s City showdown.

And while Klopp appeared hopeful he would have Mane back to face Guardiola’s side, Reds fans won’t breather easier until the Senegal forward returns to training.
