Gini Wijnaldum declares PSG season over If we do not win the Champions League this season

"The aim is to win as much as possible," Gini Wijnaldum said in his interview with Paramount+.

"PSG now have something that if we do not win the Champions League, the season is over. This is a team that must play for everything.

"The quality in the squad and the possibilities we have, you must play for everything -- not just the UCL. Of course, it is also a competition we want to win."

The Dutchman also spoke about the situation surrounding his move to PSG.

"I do not really like these kinds of situations when your contract ends," the former Newcastle United playmaker said.

"People are always speculating about whether you are staying or going. For me, it was like a rollercoaster.

'Will I stay? Which country will I go to? Will I stay in the Premier League?' It was quite new for me."

Wijnaldum signed for PSG on a free transfer in July in a move that opened the floodgates of free transfers for the Parisians.

Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Lionel Messi all penned big-money deals as free agents for PSG before the transfer window slammed shut.
