Laporta talks Griezmann exit: He doesn't fit into the Barcelona system

"Was Antoine Griezmann a failure? More was expected of him but he has never been criticized for his behaviour. He is a great player but he did not fit into the Barcelona system," Joan Laporta has told TV3.

"Griezmann was impeccable, a real professional. But in terms of football, he did not fit in.

"Antoine was important last year in the Copa del Rey. He is a player who could have done more but the circumstances did not help."

Griezmann has left on loan to Atletico Madrid on the last day of the summer transfer window. Barcelona bought him for €120m back in 2019.
