Vinicius officially win Real Madrid player of the month for August.

Vinicius beats Benzema to win Real Madrid player of the month for August

It went down to the wire in the end between Benzema and Vinicius. It was the Brazilian who gained the most votes to win Real Madrid's player of the month award for August.

Vini has scored 5 times for Los Blancos in 6 appearances, plus 2 assists. On the one hand, Benzema has tallied 6 goals in as many games while claiming an impressive 5 assists.

A thrilled Vinicius told Real Madrid official website: "I'm very happy with the good start to the season and very happy that everyone has shown me so much love.

"Thank you very much, I hope I can continue like this.

"I'm also pleased to be back playing at the Bernabéu with the fans, who will get behind us throughout the season.

"I'm very grateful that the coach is showing his confidence in me and the players fill me with confidence to perform well.

"I've had a very good start and I want to continue like this until the end of the season".

Hopefully, Vinicius can continue in this rich vein of form as the season gets into the business end.
