Klopp offers sympathy to Covid-hit Chelsea: 'I saw Tuchel's bench v Wolves

"I saw Thomas Tuchel's bench from Chelsea, come on! He has to play Kovacic he came back from a long-term injury. For us, it's exactly the same," Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports.

"There's a big thing we have to talk about, can we carry on or not? But if we carry on, we cannot just carry on like usual.

"Teams that can play need to have help with schedule. I'm fine with having a break."

The Premier League has confirmed that the season will continue despite a rising number of Covid-19 cases within squads.

Chelsea had just four outfield players on the bench against Wolves while Kovacic, Kante and Chalobah had to play despite not being fully match fit.

Chelsea had requested the Premier League to postpone their game against Wolves after having seven players testing positive for COVID during the last week.

Earlier, Klopp said that Chelsea faced Wolves with their first team. It's nice to see the Liverpool head coach has learnt more about the fitness levels of the Blues players and changed his opinion.
