Nottingham Forest Promoted To Premier League After 22 Years

Nottingham Forest are officially a Premier League club for the first time since 2000, securing their place in the top flight with a 1-0 play-off final win over Huddersfield Town.

The only goal of the came actually came courtesy of a Huddersfield player, with a long-range effort from Man Utd loanee James Garner deflecting off of 19-year-old Levi Colwill and into the back of the net.

Huddersfield pushed forward with intent in the second half, and even had a decent shout for a penalty waved away with 15 minutes remaining, but were unable to find an equalising goal.

The result means that Forest are finally back in the Premier League after 22 years away.

Forest have been one of English football's sleeping giants for a number of years, having won two consecutive European Cups in 1979 and 1980 under the guidance of legendary manager Brian Clough.

Now with Steve Cooper at the helm, Forest will embark on a Premier League campaign in the 2022/23 season.
