Nketiah told he's not good enough to replace Gabriel Jesus

Paul Merson doesn't believe Eddie Nketiah has what it takes to replace Gabriel Jesus while he's recovering from his knee injury.

Jesus has been ruled out for at least three months but the former Arsenal man doesn't believe Nketiah would be able to fill his shoes.

Quoted by the Daily Express, Merson said: "Nketiah can’t keep it up, no disrespect to the kid.

"Of course he can’t. It’s too much to ask. He is brilliant to come on as a sub but they’ve got to go and get a focal point."

That's a bit harsh considering Nketiah has actually played well for the Gunners in recent times.

Of course, he's not on the same level as Jesus but he's definitely not as bad as most people make him out to be.

It will be interesting to see if Eddie defies his critics by playing a key role in Jesus' absence.
