"Emotional Moment": Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Break Down in Tears as Wrexham FC Secures Promotion

Paul Mullin scored two goals to help Wrexham earn promotion back into League Two, leaving Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in tears of joy.

The atmosphere was tense around the Racecourse Ground as Wrexham aimed for a win over Boreham Wood, which would secure their promotion back into the Football League.

Following their most recent relegation, the club spent 15 years in the National League. However, their fortunes have turned around in the past two years since being taken over by new owners, leading to their revitalization.

Throughout the season, Wrexham faced a tough challenge from their rivals Notts County. However, towards the end of the campaign, they found themselves in a position where they needed to secure three points from their final two games.

The Red Dragons were under immense pressure, but it was the opposing team who made the first move, and did so very early on Saturday evening, causing a dent in the atmosphere.

After receiving a bouncing ball, Lee Ndlovu from Hertfordshire's team managed to lob Ben Foster and score the first goal just 40 seconds into the game, putting his team up 1-0.

Elliott Lee equalised before half-time, with a header, before Mullin was the man who struck two goals worthy of getting a team back into the Football League.

Understandably, the two Hollywood stars who own the club couldn't hold back their emotions at full time, and you could see what the promotion meant to them as they shed tears.
