"Never in my life'' - Ancelotti gives brutal response when asked if he would consider an offer from Barcelona

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti gave the perfect response when he was recently asked whether he would take the Barcelona job.

Possibly the greatest football rivalry in the world due to the stature of its clubs, the El Clásico derby is special but not many cross the divide and feature for both.

Luis Figo's record move to Madrid from Barcelona at the turn of the century angered many supporters of the Catalan club with many fans throwing stuff at the Portuguese star when he returned to Camp Nou.

Ronaldo is another example, but the former Barcelona star moved to Madrid via Inter Milan and he's probably the only player loved by both sets of fans.

Only two men have managed both clubs - Radomir Antić and Enrique Fernández - and when current Madrid boss Ancelotti was asked if he ever would manage Barcelona he had the perfect response.

What did he say?

“I’d never join Barcelona in my life, impossible. No way," Ancelotti said, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano.

“My history is here at Real Madrid, the best club in the world. People love me here”.

He is considered one of Madrid's most successful ever managers having led them to a La Liga title and crucially two Champions Leagues during two separate spells at the club.

They have failed to put up much of a fight in the league this season and currently sit 12 points behind their rivals Barca who are champions in waiting.

However, they still have the chance to win the Champions League and face one of Ancelotti's former clubs Chelsea in the quarter-final on Wednesday.

'Don Carlo' became the first manager to win the competition four times when Madrid lifted the title last year and his side has a good chance of retaining it this time.
