Bosnia & Herzegovina Vs France: Confirmed Lineups Are Out

Image
France will be aiming for another away win when they take on Bosnia & Herzegovina at Stadium Grbavica on Wednesday in their third European qualifying match for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The current world champions are now the only side to secure a single victory in Group D currently. It puts them right at the top of the standings, with Finland and Ukraine being second and third respectively with back to back draws. Bosnia & Herzegovina are fourth with just one point on the board. They have played only one game, however, drawing 2-2 with Finland about a week ago, before being held to another draw with Costa Rica in an international friendly. The Golden Lillies will be hoping for another point against France as it could put them in a great position to compete with Finland and Ukraine for second place in the group. Bosnia & Herzegovina Vs France Lineup Bosnia & Herzegovina XI (4-2-3-1): Sehic, Todorovic, Sanicanin, Hadzikadunic, Civic, Pjanic, Cimirot, Stevanovic, G...

England Vs Poland: Confirmed Lineups Are Out

Image
England will welcome Poland to Wembley in a Group I match of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers. The Three Lions have made a fine start to their campaign in the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers, having eased past San Marino and Albania in their opening two fixtures. Gareth Southgate’s side have plundered seven goals while conceding none, stretching such a run to three games, with their final fixture of 2020 ending in a 4-0 win over Iceland. Poland, on the other hand, were a little slow off the blocks, as they came from behind to hold Hungary to a 3-3 draw to begin their qualifying campaign. The White and Reds, though, followed up a nervy start with a 3-0 win over Andorra this past weekend, although that came at the cost of the injury that captain Robert Lewandowski picked up. England Vs Poland Lineup England XI (4-3-3): Pope, Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw, Rice, Phillips, Mount, Sterling, Kane, Foden Poland XI (4-3-1-2): Szczesny, Bereszynski, Bednarek, Glik, Rybus, Jozwiak, Kr...

Haaland Reveals How Much He Wants Per Week To Sign For Man Utd

Image
Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland says he wants to become the highest-paid player in Premier League history this summer and will ask interested clubs to pay him £600,000 per week, the UK Sun reports.   Europe’s top clubs are expected to battle over the 20-year-old this summer.   Dortmund will make up to £130 million in profit on Haaland, who they signed for just £20m less than 16 months ago.   Haaland has gone on to prove himself as one of the deadliest strikers in world football, scoring 49 goals in 39 games for the Bundesliga side.   Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all interested in signing Haaland this summer.   But any move for the Norwegian could cost a total of £300m over the duration of the striker’s contract, with his agent Mino Raiola demanding around £600,000-a-week for his client’s services.   Alexis Sanchez is the current record holder for the highest-paid Premier League player. The Chilean earned close to £500,...

South Africa Sack Bafana Bafana Manager Molefi Ntseki

Image
South African national team manager Molefi Ntseki has been sacked after the Bafana Bafana failed to reach the 2021 AFCON. The 51-year-old took charge of South Africa in August 2019, leading the national team in nine games, winning just four, while suffering three defeats. Their most recent one came in a crucial game against Sudan as a 2-0 home victory for the Falcons of Jediane meant that the Bafana Bafana will miss the upcoming AFCON finals in Cameroon.   The 1996 AFCON champions started the qualifiers well, picking up nine points from the opening four games, before being held by Ghana at home and then lose in Sudan. A couple of days after the defeat, the SAFA have announced that Molefi Ntseki has been sacked after he refused to resign from his position.   Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has emerged as one of the candidates to replace Ntseki alongside Benni McCarthy, Shakes Mashaba, Carlos Queiroz and Muhsin Ertugral.   However, Mosimane has not shown any intent...

Benzema Respond To Trial Of Sex-Tape Blackmail Plot On Mathieu Valbuena

Image
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has reacted after it emerged he will appear in court in October for his alleged role in the Mathieu Valbuena sex tape blackmail plot from six years ago.   The Real Madrid forward is suspected of having pressured his former France team-mate to pay blackmailers who threatened to reveal an intimate video in which Valbuena featured. On Tuesday, it was reported Benzema will go on trial from Wednesday, October 20 to Friday, October 22.   Benzema responded on his Instagram story, writing alongside a screenshot of the news: ‘Yes, finally. Let the masquerade end forever’ The striker’s alleged involvement has cost him his place in the France national team since 2015 despite his consistent high-level performances for the LaLiga giants.  Four other people will also stand trial in the case. Benzema denies any wrongdoing.

2021 AFCON Qualifiers: Osimhen Emerges Joint Top Scorer

Image
Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has been named joint top scorer of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers with five goals, same as Zambia’s Patson Daka. Former Eagles striker Odion Ighalo also finished top scorer of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers with eight goals. Recall that Ighalo went on to finish top scorer of the tournament proper in Egypt with five goals.   Alex Iwobi scored three goals, while Paul Onuachu and Samuel Chukwueze netted two goals apiece. A total of 334 goals were scored in 150 matches in the qualifying tournament for the AFCON to be staged in Cameroon in January.

Top Five Female Ghanaian Footballers – See Their Details

Image
There are five top female Ghanaian footballers I want to talk about in this article because of their achievements – not just for country but for club too. Female football players are not often given the chance to be on top, whether it’s Ghanaian or anywhere else in the world. Most times they have to take their chances to become stars in their own right. Now for those of them who have struggled and made it in the football industry, here are the top five of them who have come from Ghana. Top 5 Female Ghanaian Footballers 5 ERNESTINA ABAMBILA Ernestina Abambila, 23, is a midfielder with Medyk Komondor and the Ghana National team. Nigeria End AFCON Qualifiers With 3-0 Victory Over Lesotho

Image
The Super Eagles beat Lesotho 3-0 in the final game of the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos yesterday.   Napoli striker Victor Osimhen was named the man-of-the-match, scoring one and assisting another as Nigeria finished with 14 points, top of Group L.   Osimhen, who was a thorn in the flesh of the visitors , scored the curtain raiser in the 23rd minute, his 5th goal of the qualifiers. The Number 9 had received a delightful overhead pass from Kelechi Iheanacho before putting the ball beyond goalkeeper Sekhoane Moerane.   Gernot Rohr-led side played with so much confidence but failed to increase the tally with the scoreline at 1-0 at half time.   After the restart, the three-time African champion continued with their dominating display as Osimhen turned provider for the second goal in the 50th minute. The 22-year-old unselfishly gave the pass to Oghenekaro Etebo who was arriving in the box as he side-foots the ...

Nigeria Vs Lesotho: Confirmed Lineups Are Out

Image
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will round off their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign with a clash against Lesotho this evening (Tuesday). The Super Eagles have already booked their spot in the finals of the competition, sitting top of Group L with 11 points from seven matches, while Lesotho are rock bottom of the section with three points. Gernot Rohr’s side are unbeaten in Group L, winning three and drawing two of their five matches to collect 11 points, which has left them four points clear of second-placed Benin and seven clear of Sierra Leone in third. Lesotho, meanwhile, have never qualified for the finals of an Africa Cup of Nations tournament, and they will also not be present in next year’s competition, which is not a surprise. The Crocodiles are without a victory in any competition since August 2019, but they have only lost two of their five matches in this section, picking up three points, meaning that third position is still open in Group L. Nigeria Vs Lesotho...

Image
Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi will be available for selection when Nigeria clash with Lesotho today after a second Covid test returned negative, officials disclosed. “Iwobi’s further Covid-19 tests have returned negative,” Super Eagles spokesman Babafemi Raji disclosed.   The Everton star missed the 2021 AFCON qualifier in Benin after he was said to have tested positive.   Iwobi left the Super Eagles training camp on return from Benin, but Gernot Rohr had maintained the test result in Benin was “fake”.   He will now be expected to start ahead of Henry Onyekuru on the left side of attack.

Frank Lampard Set To Takeover England Under-21 Job

Image
Former Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard, has been shortlisted among the names considered as a potential candidate to replace England Under-21s coach, Aidy Boothroyd. Boothroyd is expected to leave his role when his contract expires this summer, and according to MailOnline, the English FA is considering its options. The Young Lions are on the brink of elimination at the ongoing European Under-21 Championship after they were defeated 2-0 against Portugal last Sunday. They currently sit on the bottom position in Group D with zero points from two games. Meanwhile, Lampard has huge admirers within the FA for the work he has done during his time at Derby County and Chelsea, respectively. The 42-year-old is currently out of work after he was sacked by Chelsea at the end of January 2021. The Chelsea legend was replaced by Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge. Other coaches on the shortlist for England Under-21s job include Paul Simpson, whose England Under-20 side won the World Cup in 2017 and ...

Nigeria Vs Lesotho: Confirmed Kickoff Time And Tv Channel

Image
Super Eagles of Nigeria will be hoping to finish their Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign with a victory against Lesotho when they clash today.   The Nigeria vs Lesotho match will take place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.   And the home side remain unbeaten inside Group L, so there is really nothing much at stake in today’s game against the Crocodiles.   The three-time African champions already booked their ticket for the 2021 AFCON last week with a win over Benin, but Lesotho still stand a chance to qualify.   But the Crocodiles have not won any competition since August 2019 and lost two of their five matches so far.   For Lesotho to get any chance to qualify for the January 2022 AFCON to be hosted in Cameroon, they needed to have beaten Sierra Leone last Saturday but only managed to get their third draw in the group stage.   However, the Southern African national football team got three points, meaning the third position is still...

Manchester United Star Juan Mata’s Mum Dies

Image
Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata’s mother has died after a battle with serious illness.   Spanish publication La Nueva Espana reported that Marta Garcia passed away on Monday after a battle against an illness that had lasted for several months. The 32-year-old Spanish World Cup winner wrote: “My mother has always been more worried about my physical wellbeing during a match than the result.   “Heaven knows how she would cope if I were, say, a free skier.   “But for all that she gets rather nervous during games, she still doesn’t miss a single one. She’s even gone so far as to send me text messages during a game.   “She’s fully aware of the fact that, obviously, I can’t see it, so I imagine that she does it as a kind of release mechanism for her worry and sometimes frustration.     “Whenever I had a knock, or I looked slightly injured during a game, the first message on my phone is hers. ‘Are you OK? Tell me something when you can.”  ...

Drogba’s Son Copies Dad’s Iconic Celebration After First Professional Goal

Image
Chelsea legend Didier Drogba’s son Isaac scored his first professional goal for Serie D club Folgore Caratese over the weekend and then copied his dad’s iconic celebration. After being teed up in the box by one of his team-mates, Isaac, 20, first took a touch out of his feet before producing a cool finish from the edge of the six-yard box. He then paid tribute to dad Didier by performing his famous goal celebration, wheeling away from his jubilant team-mates while pumping his arms out wide. If he goes on to achieve even a fraction of what dad Didier pulled off in his own career, it’s fair to say Drogba Jr will have done well for himself.

Image
Robert Lewandowski is set to miss Poland’s upcoming Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying Group I clash with England, after it was confirmed he had damaged ligaments in his knee against Andorra on Sunday. The star forward was replaced during his nation’s routine 3-0 win on Sunday just after the hour mark, having bagged a brace. Paulo Sousa’s side will now have to contend with a crunch clash against Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions without the Bayern Munich forward. Also, the extent of Lewandowski’s injury may also keep the 32-year-old out of his club’s pair of vital clashes in the Bundesliga and Champions League over the next eight days. “Robert Lewandowski will not play in Wednesday’s 2022 World Cup qualifying match against England in London due to an injury,” an official statement posted to the Polish FA’s website read. “Clinical tests have shown damage to the collateral ligament of the right knee. “Treatment of this type of injury usually lasts from five to 10 days. Man United Have Been Forced To Land New No 9 This Summer

Image
Manchester United could be forced into landing a new No 9 this summer amid uncertainty over Edinson Cavani’s future. And the Red Devils’ preference appears to be a younger forward, instead of an already established superstar. Cavani has been heavily linked with a move to Boca Juniors, while Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood have scored just five Premier League goals combined this term. And according to Manchester Evening News, United’s preference is to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, instead of Harry Kane.   But the Red Devils may end up missing out on both of their preferred transfer targets for financial reasons.   Dortmund would demand a fee in the region of £100million to part ways with Haaland, though he has a release clause of £66m, that doesn’t kick in until next year.   And Tottenham would demand more than £150m for Kane.   What also complicates a potential move for Kane is United’s poor relationship with the club.

Liverpool’s £33m Deal For RB Leipzig’s Centre Back Almost Done

Image
Liverpool are almost through finalising a deal for RB Leipzig’s talented French centre back Ibrahima Konate, according to reports. Jurgen Klopp has been dealing with an injury crisis all season, with injuries to both Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, but the Reds are making sure they have the strength-in-depth to cope in the future. And according to The Athletic, Liverpool have moved to boost their squad by bringing in Konate in the summer transfer window. If the Reds activate the 21-year-old defender’s release clause, which is thought to be around £34million, then they do not need to hold talks with Leipzig.
