Arsenal To Replace Hector Bellerin With Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi

Image
Arsenal are set to make Inter Milan a ‘concrete offer’ for right back Achraf Hakimi, according to reports. Mikel Arteta is keen to sign a new right-sided defender amid reports that Hector Bellerin’s future at the club is up in the air. Spanish news outlet AS claim the Gunners are ready to make a move for the 22-year-old. The Serie A leaders have slapped a £43million (€50m) price tag on the Morocco international. However, there is financial uncertainty surrounding Inter and Hakimi could be offloaded to bring money into the club. The report goes on to suggest that the San Siro giants need to sell players in order to raise funds but are reluctant to part with star man Romelu Lukaku. This could see Arsenal take advantage of the opportunity should Bellerin leave. Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea are also interested in the Morocco international.   Bellerin has been linked with a move away from the Emirates with Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona mentioned as possible landing s...

Kylian Mbappe Finally Tells PSG He Wants To Leave

Image
Kylian Mbappe has informed PSG he wants to leave in this summer’s transfer window, according to Deportes Cuatro. The France international sparkled on Wednesday night as Bayern Munich were beaten 3-2 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-finals. It’s claimed the 22-year-old is intending to make the jump to a ‘more competitive league’, with Real Madrid his preferred destination.   Los Blancos were keen to sign Mbappe back in the summer transfer window of 2017, shortly after he’d propelled Monaco to the Ligue 1 title.   But they ended up missing out on that occasion, with the World Cup winner deciding to move to PSG instead to make history in his own country.   After four years at the Parc des Princes, however, his time could be up. PSG must now decide whether to cash in on Mbappe this summer for a reduced fee or risk losing him for nothing in a year’s time.

Man Utd Reach Decision On Jesse Lingard Transfer Exit

Image
Manchester United don’t want Jesse Lingard back and will sell him in the summer transfer window, it has been claimed. The England international has flourished on loan at West Ham this season, scoring six goals and registering two assists from eight games so far. But, despite that, his time at the Theatre of Dreams appears to be over. Ian McGarry, speaking on the Transfer Window podcast, have claimed United will sell regardless of what the 28-year-old does in the coming weeks and months ahead. He said: “Jesse Lingard is a player who’s been rejected by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, sent out on loan to West Ham United, has proved himself to be something of a scoring sensation, none more so than last weekend.   “And it seems that though the player is under contract, United are prepared to play a waiting game, because it’s our information that they will wait until Lingard is named – or not – in England’s Euro 2020 squad this summer.   “And if he is, then they’ll wait again so that t...

FIFA To Use Automated System To Judge Offsides In 2022 World Cup

Image
FIFA’s chief of global football development, Arsene Wenger, is pushing for the introduction of a fully automated system that will notify the assistant referee when a player is offside. The goal of using the technology would be to provide more accurate offside calls and to reduce the time VAR spends judging offsides. Wenger told FIFA’s Living Football television show: “The automated offside I think will be ready for 2022. Automated means it goes directly from the signal to the linesman and the linesman has on his watch a red light that tells him offside or not offside. “At the moment, we have situations where the players are on lines to see if they are offside or not. On average, the time we have to wait is around 70 seconds, sometimes one minute 20 seconds, sometimes a little bit longer when the situation is very difficult to appreciate. “It is so important because we see many celebrations are cancelled after that for marginal situations and that’s why I believe it is a very impo...

Porto 2-0 Chelsea: Mount And Chilwell Emerge Spoilers

Image
Chelsea defeated Porto by 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League Quarter-final tie to give the Blues an advantage heading into next week’s return fixture. First goals in the competition from both Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell were enough to triumph over their Portuguese opponents on the evening at the Ramón SĆ”nchez PizjuĆ”n Stadium in Seville. Both legs of the tie are to be played at the home of La Liga side Sevilla due to ongoing restrictions related to the Coronavirus pandemic, with this first leg being deemed as an away fixture for Chelsea. So, a 2-0 winning margin for Thomas Tuchel’s side and an 8th clean sheet in nine games. The two sides will do it all over again in Seville next Tuesday – 13th April – for Chelsea’s ‘home’ leg but with this first leg performance, the Blues are in firm control of the tie and may just allow themselves to look forward to a Semi-final against either Liverpool or Real Madrid.

Kylian Mbappe’s Double Sinks Bayern Munich

Image
Kylian Mbappe scored twice to put Paris St-Germain in a superb away advantage of title holders Bayern Munich in a thrilling Champions League quarter-final first leg. The 22-year-old took just three minutes to make his mark as he was fed by Neymar and the striker thumped a drive through Manuel Neuer’s legs. Marquinhos doubled the lead for the French champions midway through the first half with a neat finish from a great ball by Neymar before ex-PSG striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting headed home to halve the deficit. But Bayern Munich kept up the pressure and deservedly levelled on the hour mark when Thomas Muller guided a header into the back of the net from Joshua Kimmich’s free-kick. However, Mbappe had the final say as he swept a low strike through Jerome Boateng’s legs late on to give PSG a third crucial away goal heading into the second leg. This was another eye-catching result in Europe for manager Mauricio Pochettino after they thrashed Barcelona 4-1 in the first leg of their...

PSG Star Neymar Receives Two-Game Ban

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has been suspended for two matches after being red-carded against Lille last Saturday. The Brazilian international will not be able to feature for PSG when they tackle Strasbourg this weekend and Saint-Etienne on April 18, the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has announced.   Neymar was sent off during PSG’s 1-0 home defeat following an altercation with Lille defender, Tiago Djalo, who was also dismissed.   Neymar and Djalo were given three-match bans, but with one of those games suspended.   PSG’s defeat against Lille means Mauricio Pochettino’s men are now three points behind Christophe Galtier’s side on the Ligue 1 table.   Meanwhile, Neymar was impressive for PSG in their Champions League quarter-final first leg 3-2 victory against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.   The former Barcelona star gave assists to Kylian Mbappe and Marquinhos during the encounter against Bayern.

FIFA Hand Indefinite Football Ban To Chad

Image
FIFA has banned Chad from global football until further notice over government interference in the running of the country’s football federation. The move comes after the minister of youth and sports dissolved the Federation of Chad Football Associations in March. After the announcement by the Chadian government, the Confederation of African Football disqualified the national team from last month’s final two rounds of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations. Chad do not have any upcoming international fixtures having been knocked out of the 2022 World Cup qualifying by Sudan in 2019. An official statement from football world’s governing body said: “The Bureau of the FIFA Council or the FIFA Council may lift this suspension at any time before the next FIFA Congress takes place and we will inform you accordingly.” The next congress is due to be held online on 21 May. “The FTFA loses all its membership rights, as defined in article 13 of the Fifa Statutes, with immediate effect and...

Meanwhile, defender David Luiz faces a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury that needed to be operated on. Image
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has refused to distance himself from a move to Juventus as his contract winds down at Los Blancos. The Frenchman’s contract is up at the end of the season and there has been no movement yet on an extension.   He has been linked with a switch to the dugout in Turin, where Andrea Pirlo too is under pressure.   Zidane played for Juventus for five years before making a world-record move to the Bernabeu in 2001. He didn’t hide his love for the club and the country when quizzed on his future as he keeps his options open.   “Italy is always in my heart and Juventus has always been important to me,” he told reporters. “Coming back? I don’t know (laughs). I’m here at Real Madrid now. Let’s see.”   A move to the Allianz Stadium could also see him reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo, should the Portuguese star remain at the club.

Pep Guardiola’s side look certain to lift the Premier League title and are still alive in all three cup competitions, with talks of an unprecedented quadruple doing the rounds again. Having topped Group C with an unbeaten record, the Cityzens saw off Borussia Monchengladbach in the Round of 16 with a 4-0 aggregate scoreline. Heading into Tuesday’s game, Manchester City are on a five-game winning run beating Leicester City this past weekend in the league. The Black and Yellows, meanwhile, have had a mixed bag of fortunes under interim manager Edin Terzic. Hopes of a top-four finish in the Bundesliga this season continue to fade following their most recent defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt. That result meant BVB have won just one of their last four games (D2 L2). Man City Vs Dortmund Lineup Man City XI (4-3-3): ...

Tuchel Reveals Shocking Reason Chelsea Lost 5-2 To West Brom

Image
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed Antonio Rudiger and Kepa Arrizabalaga were involved in a training ground confrontation. The Blues found themselves on the end of a humiliating loss to the Premier League’s second-bottom team, conceding five goals in a home league game for the first time since October 2011. While Chelsea did not comment on the matter publicly, Tuchel was open about the situation in Tuesday’s news conference as he addressed the media ahead of the club’s Champions League quarter-final first leg against Porto.   “It was not [serious]. It was an incident in training and got heated between Toni and Kepa,” Tuchel said. But although he initially played down the incident, Tuchel backtracked and emphasised the gravity of what occurred.     “It was serious,” he continued. ” We needed to interfere in this situation, so it was serious. How the guys handled the situation was impressive and showed character, but the situation was serious.   “That i...

What Tuchel Must Do Quickly To Secure Premier League Top Four

Image
Everybody seemed to be a little sceptical when Chelsea replaced Frank Lampard at the helm with Thomas Tuchel back in December. There were question marks surrounding the German’s pedigree after he failed to win the Champions League with massive financial backing at Paris Saint-Germain. However, thus far in his time at Stamford Bridge, he has proved the doubters wrong. The 0-0 draw with Leeds United at Elland Road last Saturday afternoon marked Tuchel’s 12th game in charge of the Blues in all competitions and the goalless draw was enough to ensure that his Chelsea side remained unbeaten during his tenure. It’s been a great start to life in west London for Tuchel. But it’s fair to say that Chelsea haven’t come away from all 12 of those games smelling like roses. There have been some fantastic results, like the 1-0 away wins over Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and AtlĆ©tico Madrid, that’s for sure. However, there are some games that the Blues will look back on and wonder how they didn’...

Madrid are already without the injured Sergio Ramos for the match.

Two Barcelona Players Set For Neymar Transfer Deal

Image
Barcelona are willing to offer PSG two players in order to sign Neymar, according to reports. The Brazil international quit the Nou Camp back in 2017. However, a sensational return could now be on the cards. The Samba star angered the Catalan giants by leaving under a cloud in 2017, where he moved to the Parc des Princes for £200million.   But they’ve remained interested in bringing him back regardless.   And, now, according to Sport, Barcelona are willing to offer Ousmane Dembele or Antoine Griezmann to PSG in order to ensure Neymar comes back. That’s the only way the Catalan giants can feasibly land the 29-year-old this summer, with the finances involved making an operation tricky to strike.   And the report adds it’s unclear what PSG’s view on signing Dembele and Griezmann is at the current moment in time. Barcelona are next in action against Real Madrid on Saturday (8pm).

Klopp Speaks On Revenge Against Real Madrid After 2018 UCL Final Loss

Image
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted they will not be gunning for revenge as they face Real Madrid for the first time since the infamous 2018 Champions League final. The Reds were beaten 3-1 in Kiev after they lost Mohamed Salah to a damaged shoulder following a collision with Sergio Ramos, while goalkeeper Loris Karius was left concussed after the Real’s captain elbowed him in the head; Klopp was furious with Ramos’s actions. Klopp has made it clear past meetings will not figure in his team talk and he has challenged his players to take their improving form up another gear. Klopp said: “It has nothing to do with 2018. You ask about revenge for 2018 or revenge for our not so good Premier League season? “We are not on a revenge tour here. Life is like this. You try everything to win a game. You lose it. You meet the opponent again one day.”

Guardiola Gives FIFA, UEFA As Reasons For Rotating Players

Image
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has blamed FIFA and UEFA for ‘killing his players’ due to an overly congested fixture list hence he’ll have to keep rotating players. The Spaniard made six changes to his starting XI as City moved closer to the Premier League title by beating Leicester City 2-0 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. And he has vowed to keep changing his line up ahead of a Champions League quarter-final meeting with Borussia Dortmund this week, insisting his players cannot be expected to play three games in a week without proper rest. “They are human beings, they are not machines,” Guardiola told reporters. “I know the players, some of them are upset all the time because they want to play every day but this is not possible. “To compete in all competitions in this year without spectators, in the shortest competition ever, (if) you don’t rotate you don’t compete in all competitions and you will not be in the position we are in now. “Of course they could play, they ...
