Neymar trying to convince Barca-linked Endrick to join PSG

Image
PSG are currently leading the chase to sign Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick, claims ESPN. The Ligue 1 side have taken pole position in the pursuit of the teenager and are ready to make a fresh bid after seeing their initial offer of €45m rejected. PSG forward Neymar is trying to convince Endrick to join him in Paris and has been speaking to him quite often. Palmeiras are holding out for €60m for the 16-year-old, who can only officially join a European club once he becomes an adult in 2024. Barcelona are also keen on signing Endrick, with Xavi also acknowledging the interest recently. The Blaugrana will have to work quickly and come up with a major offer to get the Brazilian to reject advances from PSG and Real Madrid and move to the Camp Nou. Source: ESPN

'He deserves that respect': Jordi Cruyff reveals plans for talks with Busquets over Barca future

Image
Speaking about plans to speak to Sergio Busquets over his future at Barcelona, Jordi Cryuff said: “When he returns from the World Cup, with time, obviously there will be answers because the club also has to plan for the future,. “Busquets deserves that respect, that he himself can decide how and when.” Busquets is reportedly ready to leave Barca after his contract expires in the summer and isn’t planning to renew his deal with the club. That’s why the club wants clarity over his decisions, as they’ll have to start to plan potential replacements. He could join Inter Miami on a free transfer next year and possibly re-unite with Lionel Messi if the Argentine also decides to move to the MLS side. Source: Sport

Players like Jorginho, Marc Cucurella, Trevoh Chalobah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were involved alongside youngsters like Lewis Hall and Charlie Webster. Here are some of the best photos from the session, provided by the official Chelsea website.

Ronaldo 'texted Piers Morgan' claiming Bruno's goal touched his head

Image
The memes about Cristiano Ronaldo complaining to Piers Morgan about his goal being awarded to Bruno Fernandes are coming true. Ronaldo hearing FIFA announce it as a Bruno goal pic.twitter.com/DPzz5OAynw — ODDSbible (@ODDSbible) November 28, 2022 On Fox Sports, former United States international Alexi Lalas revealed: "I was just with Piers Morgan. "He said that Cristiano texted him from the locker room saying he believes that it touched his head. Who knows…" Ronaldo's bombshell interview with Piers Morgan led to his shocking exit from Manchester United. And it appears he trusts the TV host more than VAR or literally anybody who's watched the game. Replays clearly showed the cross from Bruno went inside the net unaided by Ronaldo, whose head did not touch the ball at all. Despite his initial celebrations, VAR gave the goal to Bruno, who rightfully deserved it. Regardless of the drama, Portugal beat Uruguay 2-0 and are through to the Round of 16 of the World Cup. S...

Liverpool linked with Ajax forward Kudus — he scored against Reds in Champions League

Image
Liverpool are keen on signing Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus, reliable journalist Mike Verweij reports. He adds that Everton (of all clubs!) are 'fighting' the Reds for the Ghanaian's signature. The 22-year-old has scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 21 matches across all competitions for Ajax. He scored the Dutch side's goal in their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in September. You can watch Kudus' goal here (from 0:31): Kudus is currently at the World Cup. On Monday, he bagged a brace in Ghana's 3-2 win against South Korea. The Ajax man can play as an attacking midfielder, centre-forward and right-winger. Transfermarkt values him at €15m but he will likely command a higher price in the summer if he continues his good form. Source: Telegraaf

Laporta names one underrated person behind Spain's great World Cup start, he's not a player

Image
"For the [Spanish] national team to be doing so well is partly because of the good work that has been done at Barcelona," Joan Laporta has told the media, per Marca. "Luis Enrique has made good decisions and picked a unite with players who mostly play for Barcelona. That makes it easier to adapt. Xavi deserves a lot of credit because he has got many of these players playing well at Barcelona," he added. There are currently 8 Barcelona players in Luis Enrique's side – and most of them usually make his starting eleven. Surely, their chemistry with each other is one of the main reasons behind Spain's current success. Spain beat Costa Rica 7-0 and shared the spoils with Germany 1-1 on the first two World Cup matchdays. Source: Marca

Video: Rodrygo meets Ronaldo after Switzerland win, shows one gesture that makes Brazil legend laugh

Image
Ronaldo Nazario interviewed Rodrygo after Brazil beat Switzerland 1-0 at the World Cup. After the 21-year-old shared his impressions about the game, he shook Ronaldo's hand and rubbed his own hands against the legend's legs to soak up his best football skills. That made Ronaldo burst into laughter. It's also amazing that Rodrygo headed to the mixed zone while still wearing the Brazil kit. These pics may become truly iconic one day. 'Focus on La Liga, leave the national team alone': Real Madrid great Guti hits out at Laporta amid Spain praise

Image
"It [Laporta's words about Spain] bores me, really. Even in the World Cup times he has to be there. His desire to be the protagonist doesn't make any sense. He has it when the team wins, but not when it loses," former Real Madrid great Guti has told El Chiringuito. "He says that the team has great players thanks to Xavi, but I have seen something else. I've hardly seen Ferran Torres and Jordi Alba play for Barca. And Gavi is losing his spot to De Jong. Let him focus on seeing if Barca wins a title this year. Leave the national team alone," he added. Earlier, Joan Laporta praised Xavi for how Spain fare at the World Cup, emphasising the role of Barcelona players in Luis Enrique's side. Indeed, Ferran Torres and Jordi Alba haven't been undisputed starters for Barca this season; however, Xavi can still be praised for their impact as they played together a lot last season. Also, Guti is clearly wrong when he says Gavi is losing competition to Frenkie...

Ronaldo or Bruno? FIFA statement confirms who really scored for Portugal

Image
"In the match between Portugal and Uruguay, using the Connected Ball Technology housed in adidas's Al Rihla Official Match Ball, we are able to definitively show no contact on the ball from Cristiano Ronaldo for the opening goal in the game," confirmed FIFA in a statement that was also released by Adidas. "No external force on the ball could be measured as shown by the lack of 'heartbeat' in our measurements. The 500Hz IMU sensor inside the ball allows us to be highly accurate in our analysis." Now that FIFA and Adidas have provided technical proof of the ball only touching Bruno Fernandes, the goal stands in favour of the Manchester United midfielder. Despite Ronaldo's many protests about his hair brushing the ball, Bruno shone for Portugal in the 2-0 win over Uruguay in the World Cup. He scored two goals to catapult his country into the Round of 16, much to the delight of fans. Source: FIFA via MEN

Paul Merson Says: Harry Maguire has been England's best player at 2022 World Cup so far in Qatar ahead of Wales game

Image
In his latest Sky Sports column, Paul Merson discusses Tuesday night's game between Wales and England at the World Cup, why Harry Maguire has been their top performer in Qatar and believes Kylian Mbappe is the best player in the world. England are guaranteed to qualify for the last 16 as long as they avoid a four-goal defeat or greater to Wales, who must beat Gareth Southgate's side to have any hope of progressing through Group B. Maguire is likely to start for England on Tuesday night after impressing in their opening two games, as they thrashed Iran 6-2 followed by a goalless draw against the USA. England will finish top of the group with victory over Rob Page's side and that could set up a potential quarter-final against France, who are on course to qualify as group winners. Read on for the Magic Man's thoughts on the Wales vs England game, Maguire's performances in Qatar and how England could stop Mbappe... Wales will not win by four goals I expect England to go...

Pep says he's 'not essential' for Barca success after extending Man City stay

Image
Pep Guardiola has claimed he would consider a return to Barcelona if he thought he was essential, but the Manchester City boss has insisted he feels at home with the reigning Premier League champions. Guardiola last week committed his future to Manchester City by agreeing a two-year contract extension, with the new deal running until 2025. The 51-year-old previously enjoyed success with Barcelona as a player, before his trophy laden four-year spell in charge of the Catalan giants as manager, which ended in 2012. His former player, Xavi, is currently in charge and has led Barcelona to the top of LaLiga in the first half of this season. Guardiola was presented with the Best Manager trophy for the fifth time at the Catalan Football Federation's annual gala, where he was asked about his former side. 'It's a bad way to see it that I have to go back, because Pep left and Barca kept winning,' Guardiola said, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. 'You shouldn't think like tha...

Are Arsenal really interested in Christian Pulisic? Fabrizio Romano shares update

Image
Arsenal have been linked with a surprising loan move for Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic in the January transfer window. The highly-reliable Fabrizio Romano has weighed in on the rumours and here's what he had to say: "Arsenal have been linked with an interest in Pulisic, but my understanding is still that [Mykhalo] Mudryk is their priority for January. "Chelsea were not too keen to loan out Pulisic in the summer, but we’ll see what offers come in for him this January." The versatile American has been lacklustre for Chelsea but he's been solid for USA in the Qatar World Cup. The 24-year-old even picked up the Man of the Match award during England's 0-0 draw with USA. Given his age and skills, Pulisic would fit right in with Mikel Arteta's young team. However, his struggles in the Premier League make him a risky signing for a club looking to win the title. Source: Fabrizio Romano via ArsenalBuzz @ Twitter

Manchester United 'stance' over Victor Osimhen bid and more transfer rumours

Image
Manchester United will reportedly not pay a 'crazy price' for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, despite the recent departure of attacker Cristiano Ronaldo. MEN Sport understands that the Nigerian is a player of interest for the Reds as they look to strengthen their striker options, but Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg has reported that United will not pay an 'exorbitant amount' to sign Osimhen from the Italian giants next year. "As reported he‘s one of the top targets. But been told that #MUFC doesn’t want to pay a crazy price around €100m," Plettenberg wrote in his tweet. The 23-year-old forward still has three years on his current contract and would thus command a big fee. Meanwhile, Napoli are top of Serie A and are still active in the Champions League, so will be desperate to keep hold of the player. Osimhen has registered 10 goals and three assists in 14 appearances in all competitions so far this season. Elsewhere, Mundo Deportivo are reporting that th...

We don't need extra motivation': Jordan Henderson vows England will talk on the pitch against Wales

Image
Jordan Henderson insists England will do their talking on the pitch rather than get into a war of words with Wales. The home nations clash in the World Cup on Tuesday, with England all-but through from Group B and Wales needing a win to stand any chance of joining their neighbours in the last 16. Speaking ahead of the finals, Wales striker Kieffer Moore said he 'couldn't wait' to knock England out. The Torquay-born Bournemouth forward added it 'would be amazing' to eliminate Gareth Southgate's side in Qatar. A video of Wales players celebrating England's shock Euro 2016 exit to Iceland will also stoke the flames ahead of the clash at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium. But Henderson is not interested in talking up the game beforehand and instead wants England to show their superiority on Tuesday night. 'For me, we don't need extra motivation,' he said. 'The motivation is to win games, and we'll do our stuff on the pitch really, we will do our talking ...

Los Blancos have been impressed by his improvement and want to sign him to add more depth to the left-back position. However, RB Leipzig are likely to demand €40m to let him go next year. Ziyech is having a good World Cup with Morocco, winning the Man of the Match award in his side's 2-0 win against Belgium. The 29-year-old has made just nine appearances for Chelsea so far this season, failing to record a single goal or assist. 'I though it was over': Varane explains tearful reaction to injury vs Chelsea

Image
Raphael Varane said he thought his World Cup hopes have been dashed by an injury against Chelsea. Recounting the incident, he said: “It was a difficult moment. At first I thought I had a more serious injury than it really was. “I thought it was over for the World Cup. A sportsman’s life has ups and downs, you have to pick yourself up and come back stronger. “I went into fast-track recovery mode, I put in a lot of effort and made a lot of sacrifices to be ready in time. It was difficult but I’m making the most of every moment. I know exactly what it means to wear the France jersey. I was desperate to overcome [the injury].” Varane returned to action in France's 2-1 win over Denmark. With successive wins, the defending champions are through to the knockout phase with a game to spare. Finished! France break World Cup record but Varane named weakest link France have qualified for the last 16 of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar following a 2-1 victory over Denmark. Kylian Mbappe scor...

'We are very worried about him': Laporta provides injury update on Araujo

Image
"We are very concerned [about Araujo]. We want to make sure the player is not being pressured to play before he is completely fit. We want to make sure there is no relapse. He is training. I hope Araujo's health is the priority," Joan Laporta has told Cope. "He won't play against Ghana [December 2]," the president added. Barcelona reportedly believe that Uruguay are putting the 23-year-old's health at risk and 'consider' sending a formal complaint to FIFA against Uruguay if Araujo plays in the group stages. As a reminder, the initial agreement was that Ronald would come back to the pitch only in the knockout stages of the World Cup. Source: Cope

Man United confident of 'snatching potential buyers' from Liverpool

Image
Manchester United are confident they can snatch potential buyers from Liverpool as the takeover process for both clubs gets underway, per Sports Mail. Sources have told the Daily Mail that Man United believe they represent a much more appealing prospect and a bigger brand than Liverpool. They are also confident of commanding huge bids of more than £5bn. United have gone a step further to bring in support from the Raine Group, the US bank that helped Chelsea find a mega-rich buyer last summer. In terms of recent success, Liverpool are far ahead of Manchester United, with the Reds winning four major trophies in the last five years including the Champions League and Premier League. Man United only boast of one title in the same period - the Europa League in 2017. Currently, Liverpool are valued at £3.89bn by Forbes but FSG are expected to sell the club if bids north of £3bn are received. Source: Sports Mail

Messi might reunite with 2 Barca legends in 2023: explained

Image
On Sunday, The Times reported that Inter Miami are willing to make Lionel Messi the highest-paid MLS player ever. His potential arrival at the David Beckham-owned club might coincide with the moves of Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez who reportedly consider joining Miami too. Thus, 2023 might be the year when Messi makes his first appearance alongside Busquets and Suarez in 3 years. And this will surely be fun to watch. What makes things even crazier is that Inter Miami are currently managed... by Phil Neville, a former Manchester United and Everton great. It is quite weird to imagine him coach the Barcelona legends! Anyway, let's see what the future holds.

Why fans protested with Ozil's pictures during Germany vs Spain

Image
Qatari fans were seen covering their mouths and holding pictures of Mesut Ozil during Germany’s game against Spain. This is the response to Germany footballers’ protest against human rights violations in Qatar. Ozil was allegedly racially abused by Germany’s soccer federation, fans and media in the past when he did not perform well for the side. “I am German when we win, but I am an immigrant when we lose,” the world cup winner said at the time. The abuse started before the 2018 World Cup when Ozil and Germany teammate Ilkay Gundogan posed for photographs with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Gundogan and Ozil have Turkish family background. The former Gunner star was subsequently jeered by German supporters during a World Cup warm-up game. The abuse increased after the tournament, abetted by incendiary statements from Germany team director Oliver Bierhoff and the federation president at the time Reinhard Grindel. Both later admitted they should have given Ozil more support. Sou...

'26 shots and he didn't have one': Havertz slammed by pundits after being dropped by Germany

Image
Kai Havertz was dropped from the starting lineup for Germany's do-or-die clash against Spain on Sunday. The Chelsea forward didn't come off the bench either as the Germans struggled for an equalizer to keep their World Cup aspirations alive. Sky Sports pundits Ian Wright and Alan Shearer have both slammed Havertz, criticising his performance in the game against Japan as the reason why he's been dropped from the team. "When you look at the numbers in the last game for Germany they let themselves down in the final third. 26 shots they had and Havertz didn't have one," Shearer said. "When you're a forward that's not acceptable so Hansi Flick had to do something different tonight. There's no surprise that he's gone for experience," the former Newcastle striker added. Arsenal legend Wright was just as critical of Havertz. "You can see so much and he’s so much closer to the goal. Now, Havertz just stay in between and behind the number,...

'Size doesn't matter': Evra uses Mertesacker example to highlight Martinez's qualities

Image
Patrice Evra has rated Lisandro Martinez as one of Man United's best signings in recent times. Speaking on his Vibe with Five YouTube channel, he said: "This is one of the best signings we’ve had for years at Manchester United. "It’s because of his fighting spirit. That’s what United fans want to see – those players have to bleed for the shirt. "People were talking about his height and I was laughing. Some people said I was too small when I arrived in the Premier League as well. When you play with that heart and passion, size doesn’t matter. "When he gets the ball, he is so clean and composed. Mexico were pressing everywhere [in the World Cup Group C game] but every time he got the ball he was calm and playing forward. That’s what I love. "He doesn’t play those one-metre balls to the next player. This is easy. When I see those stats – I remember Mertesacker at Arsenal, the stats said he never lost the ball – but he was passing it one metre, I can do that ev...

Image
Luis Diaz should be a part of the Liverpool squad that travels to Dubai next month for a warm-weather training camp before the end of the World Cup break. Speaking about the winger’s condition, Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra said: “He came to the national team head quarters to go through rehab & to enjoy some holidays. “He has returned to Liverpool to finalise the process of rehab. The expectation is that Luis Diaz will be part of the squad that goes to Dubai.” Diaz’s recovery from injury appears to be going well and he could feature in the upcoming friendly games against AC Milan and Lyon during the World Cup break. He should be ready to start playing for the Reds after the break is over and add more options to Jurgen Klopp’s attack. Source: Pipe Sierra via Anfield Talk

Neymar's injury creates opportunity for Jesus and Martinelli: Which Gabriel should start?

Image
Neymar will miss Brazil’s final two group games at the ongoing World Cup in Qatar after suffering an ankle injury against Serbia. This could potentially open the door for two Arsenal players. Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus were second-half substitutes in Brazil’s 2-0 win over Serbia, which highlights that they are a part of Tite’s plans. Brazil face Switzerland tomorrow and Cameroon on Friday. With Antony's fitness still a doubt and Lucas Paqueta reportedly down with a flu, at least one of our attackers could start. Who should Tite pick?

UK's richest man Jim Ratcliffe ‘turns down’ Liverpool purchase opportunity to focus on Man United sale

Image
Liverpool have lost one potential new owner in the form of the UK’s richest man and INEOS founder Sir Jim Ratcliffe, as per Foot Mercato. The Englishman, who owns Ligue 1 club Nice, has turned down the opportunity to take over Liverpool from FSG. He’s rejected the Reds because of the desire to now focus on the Man United sale. Ratcliffe is a childhood fan of United and wants to buy them after they were also placed up for sale. Despite this, Liverpool are still expected to attract a lot of offers from promising parties as FSG looks to find the best new owner for the club. FSG are likely to demand at least £3bn for the Reds, with Qatari and Saudi Arabia investors reportedly interested in taking over the club. Source: Foot Mercato

Why Mason Greenwood is being probed by police over 'second bail breach' — explained

Image
According to The Sun, Mason Greenwood is being probed by the Greater Manchester police on a possible second bail breach. Greenwood, who will undergo trial next year for attempted rape and assault, reportedly purchased luxury clothing items worth £86 for the victim and had them delivered to her house. While on bail, the 21-year-old cannot contact the victim for any reason and he breached it once by meeting her in public earlier this year. It remains to be seen if he's penalised for contacting her once again, as she's due to submit evidence of his wrongdoing in court during the trial. Greenwood remains suspended from Manchester United while the court case unfolds. Source: The Sun

HUGE removal lorry sent to empty Ronaldo's Cheshire mansion — only to get stuck

Image
In a bizarre bit of news, Cristiano Ronaldo's removal lorry was so huge that it failed to reach his sprawling mansion in Cheshire. This is according to The Sun, who claim the lorry was too big to navigate and get inside Ronaldo's property. The truck spent an hour trying to go back, swerve and somehow enter the gate. However, all their efforts were futile as there simply wasn't enough space for it to go through! Ronaldo has left Manchester United but his next destination remains unknown. In the meantime, it appears he's getting ready to move with his family elsewhere. The 37-year-old is currently in Qatar for the World Cup while his partner Georgina Rodriguez, and their kids, are in Manchester. Source: The Sun

'Leave them alone': Raheem Sterling sends strong message to Saka critics

Image
“I think it’s brilliant to see players playing well for their clubs bring that to the international stage and biggest stage in football,” said Raheem Sterling when asked about the criticism faced by Bukayo Saka at the World Cup. “I want them to be left alone so they can be focused and not have any added pressure on them. “It’s a different kind of pressure to what I was under. In tournaments like this, no matter how many caps you have got, the less you hear your name the better. “Every player knows if they are playing well, bad or not to your standards. “The less we put them under the microscope, the better they’ll do. It’s virtually impossible not to talk about them given how well they are playing but I think the less we go on about it the better they’ll do.” The Chelsea forward is not wrong - Saka has been under immense pressure to deliver the goods for England. He scored a lovely brace in the 6-2 thrashing of Iran but did not have a good game against the USA. Pundits, fans and everyo...

Man United have 'agreement in principle' to sign Cody Gakpo in January

Image
According to Football Insider, an average source, Manchester United are closing in on a deal to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven in January. Erik ten Hag has reportedly spoken to Gakpo in hopes of persuading him to join in the winter. The Red Devils are believed to have an 'agreement in principle' with the player after failing to sign Gakpo over the summer. Cody, 23, is eager to move to the Premier League and is believed to be excited by Ten Hag's project at United. However, PSV are do not want to sell him in the winter window and believe they could command a higher fee if Cody impresses in the World Cup. The young forward already has scored two goals in two appearances for the Netherlands in Qatar. Given the reliability of the source, it'd be best if we take it with a grain of salt. 'Keep an eye on Chelsea': Romano names Blues' two biggest midfield targets

Image
Fabrizio Romano said that Chelsea are in the race to sign Jude Bellingham and Frenkie de Jong next summer. “It will be almost impossible to keep the player in the summer,” Romano said on his YouTube channel, as quoted by TEAMtalk. “He’s doing fantastic with England and for Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, in the Bundesliga and in the World Cup. “Bellingham is great everywhere. He’s an amazing player and this is why Borussia Dortmund didn’t want to decide any price before or during the World Cup. The price will be decided after the World Cup and negotiations will happen in 2023. “Many clubs have had discussions with people close to Bellingham but not yet with Dortmund. These clubs are, for sure Liverpool, they want Bellingham at all costs, Real Madrid are also interested and have had some contacts. “Manchester City, he’s big friends with Erling Haaland and City will probably go for a midfielder in the summer. Keep an eye on Chelsea because Bellingham and Frenkie De Jong are tw...

World Cup top goal scorers all-time - Golden Boot winners in FIFA men’s tournament history

Image
list of Golden Boot winners and top goal scorers in FIFA men’s World Cup tournament The Golden Boot race for the competition's top scorer is set to provide a fascinating sub-plot to the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo taking part in what looks set to be their final major tournament. The duo, who at 35 and 37 are both now firmly in the twilight of their careers, will be expected to be among the leading candidates to top the goalscoring charts in Qatar, as both bid to claim what has so far proved to be an elusive first World Cup trophy. The pair have split the accolades as the best players of their generation, if not all time, for more than a decade, and they will head to the Middle East with Argentina and Portugal respectively bidding to once again steal the limelight. They will not be alone, however, with the likes of Brazil forward Neymar, France superstar Kylian Mbappe and Russia 2018 winner, England's Harry Kane, all likely to be in the mix. It re...
