Koeman’s Barça Future Further Questioned After Levante Draw

Image
Further doubts were being raised about Ronald Koeman Barcelona future after a 3-3 draw at Levante dealt a major blow to their LaLiga title hopes, according to AS. Barça needed a victory to go top of the table at Estadi Ciutat de Valencia on Tuesday and were well on course for three points at half-time courtesy of goals from Lionel Messi and Pedri. The Blaugrana relinquished their lead all too easily after the break, though, with Gonzalo Melero and Jose Luis Morales on target in the space of two minutes. Ousmane Dembele put Barça back in front, but more slack defending allowed Sergio Leon to nip in for an equaliser seven minutes from time. Barca trail leaders Atletico Madrid by a point with only two matches to play, while Real Madrid are only a point behind them in third place and both capital clubs have a game in hand. Koeman’s future had already been called into question before this huge setback, so the Dutchman was not surprised to be asked if he felt his position is under the threat...

Pochettino Against PSG Entering £8.5m Talks With Tottenham Star

Image
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly in talks to re-sign Tottenham full-back Serge Aurier. And Mauricio Pochettino is said to be unconvinced by the idea of re-signing his former Tottenham player. According to French journalist Romain Molina, PSG chief Leonardo is currently in talks with Spurs to bring the Ivorian back to the Parc des Princes. Molina also adds that Pochettino is “unconvinced” by the idea of a reunion with the right-back . The full-back was not Pochettino’s first-choice option during his time at Spurs, with the PSG boss favouring Kieran Trippier before his move to Atletico Madrid. Aurier was not universally popular during his time at PSG, particularly after he was banned for a controversial rant in which he insulted manager Laurent Blanc in 2016. The 28-year-old was later reintegrated into the first-team set-up after a public apology. Aurier is not the only former player the Argentine has been linked with since arriving at PSG. Former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen...

Mikel Obi To Join Ahmed Musa In The NPFL?

Image
John Obi Mikel has been told to consider joining a club in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). According to Veteran Nigerian coach, Henry Makinwa, it would be a “massive win” for the Nigerian topflight. Mikel signed for Championship side Stoke City on a short-term deal after leaving Turkish Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor last year. However, his contract with the Potters expires at the end of the 2020/2021 campaign. Makinwa has now encouraged the former Super Eagles captain to borrow a leaf from Ahmed Musa, who is currently with former NPFL champions, Kano Pillars. “That would be highly welcomed if he can consider that option. “I once wrote about this many years back but that could not stand then. If he does that, we will welcome him back home. “It would be a massive win for the NPFL and the local fans,” Makinwa told Goal.

Jack Grealish's agent has cast doubt on a huge summer move to Manchester United, after admitting the Red Devils are not 'at the top of the list' of potential suitors for his client. Super-agent Jonathan Barnett, who represents Grealish along with the likes of Gareth Bale, spoke out this week regarding the future of the Villa captain. The 71-year-old conducted a remote interview with SNTV in which he admitted that Grealish could even yet remain with his boyhood club, despite growing interest in his services. Barnett said: 'The truth is we don't know (what will happen). There are many clubs (interested) and I wouldn't put Manchester United at the top of that (list). 'But he could stay. He could stay as well so it's a conversation the club, Aston Villa, will have with Jack and ourselves then we'll see where we go.' Grealish has been linked with both United and their rivals City, though transfer speculation has appeared to die down after the player e...

Unfortunately for Josh Maja, he could be relegated with two different clubs in the same season following Fulham’s relegation to the Skybet Championship last night, according to Soccernet.ng.
