"They [Chelsea players] have to be careful because when players of such high level, quality and speed of the Manchester United forwards travel quickly you have to move your feet and not dive in," Lampard said ahead of the FA Cup semi-final clash (via The Guardian). "And Bruno Fernandes, to be fair, because he’s very clever in his movement. We saw that at Aston Villa to make something feel like a penalty where maybe it even isn’t. The players don’t have to give that. "I would like to think that with VAR you have to be level-headed. Some might go against you or not. But we seem to be in a period...

Manchester United to sell six players to rise fund for Jadon Sancho

Image
Manchester United are trying to to raise funds for the purchase of Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, who has a £115million price tag on his head. The Red Devils have seen their revenue streams hit hard because of the coronavirus and will have less money to spend in the next window. Senior United officials have made it known that they will not shell out more than £50m for Sancho. But Woodward is hoping he can offload six fringe players in a bid to raise funds. According to the Athletic, Alexis Sanchez, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Jesse Lingard and Diogo Dalot could all leave Old Trafford. Sanchez has flopped since his arrival from Arsenal in January 2018 and was sent on loan to Inter Milan this season. Another star who could be tempted by a full-time switch to Italy is Smalling, who spent this year on loan to Roma. The Athletic add that super-agent Mino Raiola could help Lingard engineer a move to Italy, with Jones also mooted to follow in his footstep...

Jose Mourinho Storms Out Of Press Conference after Bournemouth draw

Image
Jose Mourinho stormed out of his post-match press conference due to technical difficulties. The Tottenham chief was set to field some questions after his side’s limp 0-0 draw at Bournemouth. Due to coronavirus restrictions, Mourinho was due to hold the press conference over video link. At one stage, the team ask Mourinho: “Hello Jose, can you hear me?” Oddly enough, Jose instantly replied “no” – before taking off his headphones and leaving. Even if Mourinho had heard, it’s unlikely he’d fancy sitting down to dissect the game. After all, Bournemouth have now played 186 times in the Premier League history. Harry Kane was denied a clear first half penalty following a push by Josh King. And Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho can feel rightly aggrieved by this poor decision. Referee Paul Tierney had a clear view on the edge of the box and should have seen it. A ref at this level should be pointing to the spot. Harry Winks was close to Tierney and ran immediately to the matc...
