Joao Cancelo's agent offered right-back to Madrid

Image
ABC Espana report that Joao Cancelo, through his agent Jorge Mendes, was offered to Real Madrid before completing his move to Bayern Munich. However, the Blancos said they were not interested. According to Defensacentral (4 stars), Madrid have had Cancelo on the radar for a while because of his versatility (he can play at left-back too) and attacking prowess. In the end, though, Florentino Perez decided not to go for the Portuguese full-back for two reasons. Reason why Cancelo was rejected by Madrid First, Joao was deemed too old. The right-back turns 29 in May, and the Merengues apparently want a younger full-back. Second, the price was too high. Cancelo joined Bayern on loan with a mandatory buy option of €70m. Real Madrid were not ready to pay this much. Nevertheless, the club will look to reinforce the right-back spot next summer. Promoting Vinicius Tobias, currently playing at Castilla, is also a possibility.

La Liga set to appeal judge's decision to register Gavi as first team player at Barca

Image
Javier Tebas and La Liga simply won't let Barcelona have nice things, it seems. The league had been ordered by the Supreme Court to proceed with the registration of Gavi as a first-team player at Barcelona. La Liga has accepted the decision, for now, but plans to appeal it, Gol's reliable Sique Rodriguez reports. At the same time, there are promising signs that Gavi will become a first-team player already today. The player disappeared from La Liga's official website where he was registered with the no.30 jersey. The midfielder will reportedly get no.6 upon promotion. Besides, Javi Miguel says that Xavi is delaying the squad announcement for the Real Betis squad so that Gavi can be included on the list as a first-team player.

Court orders La Liga to accept Gavi's registration as first-team player after repeated refusal

Image
A tribunal in the Supreme Court have ordered La Liga to accept the registration of Gavi as a first-team player of FC Barcelona. This comes after La Liga repeatedly blocked the registration of Gavi's contract with the league's president Javier Tebas insisting that Barca's salary limit will be exceeded by next summer. Thus, Barca would be in breach of FFP regulation by the summer. Tebas also warned Barca that La Liga will also reject the contract being offered to Inaki Pena and Alejandro Balde over the same Financial Fair Play regulations. However, it made no sense to the judge why Gavi's first senior contract was being rejected over a violation that is yet to take place. As confirmed by Tebas, Barcelona can register new contracts up to €10m before the end of the season. But his concern is the summer when he constantly argues that Barca's €200m wage budget will be over the league's limit. It's why La Liga refused to register Gavi until the court stepped in. ...

'That was painful for me': Ander Herrera breaks down in tears while recalling United exit

Image
"To leave, it was difficult because six months before, five months before, I was expecting that offer for me to stay," Ander Herrera has told Manchester United's official podcast. "I don't want to, it's not the moment to talk bad about anyone and I am not going to do it, but after my third season with the club I expected a little bit more from the club at that time. I got the Player of the Year award by the fans and the club didn't call me that summer to sign a new contract, and they did with other players. That was painful for me, honestly. "I think I deserved it and they didn't do it. After, the conditions changed because I was not happy with that little moment with the club. People go through the club but the club and the badge stays the same, so I could never say one bad word about the club because I am so, so thankful. "But that was a little bit painful. At the end of the third season, three titles, Player of the Year, and they didn...

"While investigations are continuing, initial assessments indicate that Eriksen is likely to be out until late April or early May. "The 30-year-old's absence will be a big disappointment to manager Erik ten Hag and fans, given the consistency of his performances throughout the season so far, making 31 appearances since arriving at Old Trafford. "However, there is hope that Christian can return in time to play a role in the final stages of the campaign. We all wish Christian the best of luck for a speedy recovery."

The Blaugrana are interested in adding the young winger if Manchester United give the green light. In fact, the winger has made just two league starts since October last year. The 20-year-old impressed last season scoring eight goals and setting up five more in his 37 appearances playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. But he's failed to score in 20 outings this season. Ten Hag shortlists Man Utd players to sell to fund summer transfers

Image
As per the Manchester Evening News, Erik ten Hag has been tasked with preparing a list of 'sellable' players for the summer transfer window. Manchester United are reportedly prioritising the signing of a proper striker and a young midfielder in six months' time. And to raise funds for that, Ten Hag has been instructed to offload a few players. That's crazy, given how short United are on numbers at the moment. Harry Maguire is expected to decide his future in the summer after falling out of favour under the Dutch boss. Meanwhile, Scott McTominay has attracted interest from Newcastle United but he's not been allowed to move this January. Aside from youth players, Ten Hag doesn't seem to have many names to put on that list as the Red Devils clearly need reinforcements in key areas.

But hey, there it is,” Messi told Infobae. “It shows a little bit what people wanted to see me with that Cup. I think that photo reached people. "The truth is that very few comments I could read. It is very difficult. I had a million messages and it ended up blocking me. It was crazy,” Messi said. By winning the World Cup, Messi was heralded as the undisputed Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) in football. The Barcelona legend has been tipped with a return to the club for next season but that remains to be seen.

Benjamin Pavard offers himself to Barcelona

Image
Benjamin Pavard has offered himself to Barcelona, according to multiple sources. Fabrizio Romano confirms that Joao Cancelo has joined Bayern Munich on loan from Manchester City. That move is probably why Pavard is pushing to leave Bayern Munich before transfer deadline day, per Mundo Deportivo. Pavard whose contract expires in 2024 can only join Barcelona if the Bavarians agree to let him leave on loan. The 26-year-old is valued at €35m on the Transfermarkt website which means Barcelona cannot afford to sign the player based on La Liga FFP restrictions. Barcelona needs a right-back with Hector Bellerin expected to leave the club before the window shuts at midnight. That makes Pavard a player Xavi would love to have on his side for the final stretch of the season.

La Liga: Barcelona cannot spend more than '€10m on deadline' day

Image
Barcelona's spending cap for transfer deadline day has been set at €10m by La Liga as revealed by Mundo Deportivo. The Blaugrana are only allowed to use a maximum of 40% of what they received in the sale of Memphis Depay to Atletico Madrid. Also, the departure of Gerard Pique adds to a small margin to what Barca can spend today. Javier Tebas hinted in his chat with COPE on Monday that Barcelona have some room to sign a player on deadline day but they have to be Careful. "It is true that BarƧa have an amount for registrations, after Memphis and Pique’s departures. They will have to decide. Next season, Barca's deficit is expected to be more than €200M, let’s see when they start to reduce their wage bill,” Tebas said. Multiple reports claim Barca will explore the option of signing a player on loan due to their small margin.

He wants to test how players will behave in Las Vegas, also known as 'Sin City' and 'The City that Never Sleeps' due to the city's glitz and glamour. Ten Hag won't stand for any United players attempting to treat the trip as a holiday. The former Ajax boss is strict, as Marcus Rashford found out last month. Image
Van der Vaart has been critical of Antony already this season, and the former Netherlands international has claimed that the winger needs to prove himself at United. "Do you know what it is with Antony... He is of course a great talent and a great player, but he shouldn't believe in himself very much," Van der Vaart told Ziggo Sport. "He's just a good player, who hasn't proven anything yet." He added: "I do like a show, but only when I can. Of course you have to have that feeling. He has played some good Champions League games, he's come in reasonably well with the Brazil national team a few times, he's made a big move and hasn't done much at Manchester United yet." "He shouldn't think: 'I've made it and I'm going to show it to the whole world by doing crazy things'. No, he has to decide games, like Marcus Rashford is doing now. Then you can do something crazy for once. But he has to be very humble, try re...
